This role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and expediting to ensure materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Align procurement with engineering specifications
    • Lead supplier negotiations to secure the best value and delivery terms
    • Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery and invoice reconciliation
    • Expedite critical and long-lead items to meet project milestones

    This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced and aspiring Scientific Service Engineers, who are looking to establish themselves within a reputable instrument manufacturer. You will receive extensive training in the repair and maintenance of state-of-the-art surface analysis instrumentation, and the opportunity to travel the world!

    Focusing on high-tech, cutting-edge analytical instrumentation, you will travel worldwide to customer sites installing instrument upgrades, performing ad-hoc repairs, planned preventative maintenance and general customer support.

    The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in mechanical/electronic engineering and/or physics – knowledge of surface analysis instrumentation would also be beneficial but extensive training is provided. Excellent communication and team skills are essential.

    A leading, research-driven biopharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist – In-Vivo Pharmacology to join its Immunology Discovery team.

    This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery and early development of innovative small molecules and biologics targeting immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, playing a critical part in generating high-quality in vivo data to support key project decisions.


    Responsibilities:

    As a Senior Scientist within the In Vivo Pharmacology group, you will:

    • Design, plan, and execute in vivo studies to support target identification, validation, and translational pharmacology.
    • Apply strong expertise in immunology models, ensuring robust experimental design and scientific rigor.
    • Generate, analyse, and interpret complex in vivo datasets to drive project progression.
    • Support the establishment, optimisation, and validation of in vivo models.
    • Oversee outsourced studies with CRO partners where required.
    • Contribute to cross-functional project teams, providing scientific insight to inform decision-making.
    • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, ethical, and animal welfare standards.
    • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to reports, study summaries, and presentations.

    You will work closely with internal project teams, matrix functions, and external collaborators in a highly collaborative research environment.


    The ideal candidate will have:

    • A PhD (or equivalent) in Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related discipline.
    • Postdoctoral or industry experience within drug discovery.
    • Strong hands-on expertise in in vivo pharmacology, particularly within immunology and inflammatory disease models.
    • Demonstrated ability to design rigorous in vivo experiments and interpret complex biological data.
    • Experience with in vivo cell depletion models (desirable).
    • A Home Office Project Licence (or eligibility to obtain one).
    • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with high attention to data quality and scientific standards.
    • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
