About this job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Protein NMR Spectroscopist to join our client; a leading drug discovery organisation focused on developing therapeutic solutions for oncology and CNS disorders.
In this position, you will play a key part in supporting a fragment-based drug discovery (FBDD) platform, using advanced NMR techniques to investigate protein–ligand interactions and drive early-stage drug discovery projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise protein- and ligand-observed NMR assays
- Conduct NMR-based fragment screening campaigns
- Characterise hits and generate data on binding affinity, kinetics, and mechanism of action
- Prepare isotopically labelled protein samples (expression & purification)
- Analyse and present data to multidisciplinary project teams
Key experience:
- Strong expertise in protein NMR spectroscopy; either from academia or industry experience
- Experience of troubleshooting & maintaining NMR spectroscopy instruments
- Solid understanding of protein–ligand interactions and biophysics
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams
- Fragment-based or structure-based drug discovery experience is desirable
- Experience with other biophysical techniques such as SPR, ITC, MS is desirable
