We have worked with VRS for a number of years recruiting for a variety of roles for LC-MS and bioanalytical scientists. In my opinion, one of the most valuable sessions from the weekend at BMSS 2017 was the lecture delivered by David Jones from VRS Recruitment. During the event, I had a number of job applications open at a large pharmaceutical company. As a result of David’s lecture, I improved my understanding of the etiquette involved in presenting your CV to potential employers in a professional manner. This was particularly important as the environment for applications and professional networking becomes significantly more digital. It was also particularly useful to ask David for advice on appropriate questions to ask following an interview in order to get the best information about the company and the role. Overall I can honestly say that this tutorial was extremely helpful and certainly contributed to me securing a permanent role in analytical chemistry in the weeks following the event.
