About this job
Our client is a growing technology company aiming to improve people’s lives by developing leading-edge life science instrumentation and associated products that are used worldwide from research universities to large pharmaceutical companies. They are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an experienced team of Engineers focusing on designing and develop exciting scientific equipment.
Within the R&D department, your main responsibilities will include:
-Find solutions:
conduct conceptual and detailed studies, analyses and verifications
in order to find faults, you will simulate and review plans and parts
ensure plans are in line with the company’s specifications
participate in materials selection in line with budget, performance, timeframe and materials resistance
-Take care of technical aspects:
offer best suited solutions to distributors in line with obstacles and technical aspects
recommend appropriate solutions & techniques, develop new concepts and engineering theories related to configuration and systems capabilities
follow projects progress at manufacturing sites, collect data and amend initial plans if required
manage materials stock
-Follow-up and collaborate:
plan, organise and manage technical projects
anticipate and react to problems that can arise during manufacturing in order to offer corrective actions and communicate potential delays to management
present and explain formal conception reviews to the Project Manager
stay up to date with technological trends
visit suppliers sites as and when necessary
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor and/or Master in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years relevant industrial experience in a scientific or precision engineering sector.
Previous experience with Solidworks is required and liquid pumping experience would be a strong advantage.
You will be the Mechanical expert in an R&D team of experienced engineers (electronics, software, firmware, etc).
Due to the company’s sites, this role can be based in either Vannes or Montluçon and relocation assistance is possible for the successful candidate. You will be rewarded with a generous salary, an exciting working environment and great career opportunities.
