Within the scientific industry, Field Service Engineers are responsible for the maintenance, installation and repair of advanced analytical instruments. They play a vital role in ensuring maximum performance and uptime, while delivering excellent customer support across a variety of sectors.

Our client is one of Europe’s leading independent LC-MS service specialists, supporting and refurbishing Mass Spectrometry and Chromatography systems from major vendors. They provide flexible and cost-effective technical solutions to customers across research, industrial and biopharmaceutical environments.

Due to continued expansion and increasing demand for LC-MS support, we are seeking a Field Service Engineer with strong LC-MS experience to join their growing team in Germany. This is a remote, field-based role serving customers primarily in the South Germany region, with occasional travel to the company’s European headquarters for training and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support for LC-MS users, including repair, maintenance, calibration and qualification
  • Deliver support for connected LC systems
  • Conduct on-site customer training
  • Assist with instrument relocations and installation projects
  • Identify opportunities for upgrades, service contracts and refurbished instrument sales
  • Communicate daily activities and service updates to the European Service Manager
  • Attend periodic visits to the company’s HQ for training and coordination
  • To be suitable for this position, you will have/be:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Electronics, Physics or related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with Mass Spectrometry and LC systems, ideally SCIEX, Thermo Fisher or Waters.
  • Excellent knowledge of LC-MS instrumentation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-centric approach
  • Fluent in English (additional languages such as German are an advantage)
  • Willing to travel regionally and work flexible hours
  • A full driving licence
