Our client is a leading company that supports water, waste and energy management solutions. They are seeking an experienced Project Buyer to support complex technical projects across the UK. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and expediting to ensure materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Align procurement with engineering specifications
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure the best value and delivery terms
• Raise and manage purchase orders through to delivery and invoice reconciliation
• Expedite critical and long-lead items to meet project milestones
• Coordinate with engineering, commercial, site, and logistics teams
• Maintain procurement documentation, ERP updates, and compliance records
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions
• Prepare procurement reports for project stakeholders

About You

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
• 3–5+ years’ experience in technical or capital project procurement (construction, M&E, infrastructure)
• Strong negotiation skills with proven cost savings delivery
• Ability to interpret technical specifications
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems
• Knowledge of UK import/export, customs, and H&S requirements
• Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
