Our client is a global provider of scientific solutions, helping laboratories around the world enable advancements in many areas such as pharmaceutical, food, environmental and healthcare. They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Laboratory Technician for their client’s R&D facility in Southampton.
In this role, you’ll play a vital hands-on role in supporting day-to-day laboratory operations. You will ensure essential laboratory services run smoothly, safely, and in compliance with site procedures, enabling scientists and end users to work effectively.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting daily laboratory operations, ensuring services are delivered safely and consistently
- Managing liquid nitrogen systems, including tank checks, dewar filling, freezer monitoring, and deliveries
- Managing laboratory consumables, chemical stock checks and replenishment
- Coordinating waste handling, segregation, solvent decanting, and hazardous waste collections
- Hosting and supervising contractors requiring access to laboratory areas
- Ensuring all work aligns with site SOPs, change control processes, and quality systems
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working in a laboratory or pharmaceutical environment
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing general laboratory equipment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Competent in using Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, etc.)
