Are you an expert in analytical chemistry with a passion for method development? We’re seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist/Technical Expert to join our Utrecht laboratory, leading cutting-edge method development and validation to support regulatory compliance, product innovation, and quality assurance in the nicotine and tobacco sector.
In this role, you will:
Develop, optimise, and validate methods for nicotine, TSNAs, carbonyls, metals, VOCs, PAHs, and other HPHCs.
Work hands-on with advanced instrumentation, including GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC, ICP-MS, and more.
Lead method transfer, validation, troubleshooting, and training across internal and external labs.
Ensure methods meet FDA, Health Canada, CORESTA, and ISO requirements, supporting regulatory submissions such as PMTA and MRTP.
Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality teams to enable product compliance and innovation.
Author technical documentation including validation protocols, reports, SOPs, and submission-ready packages.
We’re seeking someone with:
A Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with 5+ years’ experience, or BSc/MSc with 8–10 years in an industrial lab.
Demonstrated expertise in analytical method development for tobacco or nicotine-containing products would be a strong advantage, other complex/dirty matrices with small molecules experience are welcomed.
Knowledge of FDA regulations, HPHC reporting, and ISO 17025 / GLP environments would be a plus.
Proficiency with data analysis tools and software such as Empower, MassHunter, Chromeleon, or ChemStation.
Experience supporting regulatory submissions (PMTA/MRTP) is a strong plus.
