About this job
We’re looking for a Senior Electronic Design Engineer to join a specialist team working on the design and development of advanced material characterisation technologies. You’ll be a key contributor throughout the product lifecycle – from initial concept through to final production – ensuring high standards of performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Working closely with scientists and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll apply your expertise in low-level analogue design, signal processing, and PCB development to bring new products to life and improve existing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design complex analogue and digital circuits for low noise instrumentation applications
- Carry out design verification and validation testing
- Solve cross-disciplinary technical problems with innovative solutions
- Take part in peer reviews, failure mode analysis, and risk mitigation planning
- Work hands-on to test and troubleshoot PCBAs
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other technical teams throughout the design process
- Propose and implement new technology concepts for product development
- Support the development of efficient, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs
Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related discipline)
- 7+ years’ recent experience in electronic design within a high-tech environment
- Strong background in analogue signal processing and low noise design
- Hands-on experience with multilayer PCB design and testing
- Familiarity with OrCAD, Altium, or similar CAD tools
- Confident using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, DVMs, etc.
- Understanding of IPC standards and PCB manufacturing processes
