Our client is an international pharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutic solutions to serve patient needs worldwide. With heavy investment in Research & Development activities, they collaborate with many partners from academic labs to start-ups, pharma and biotech companies to tackle health challenges.

They recently created a position for a Pharmaceutical R&D Microbiology scientist to be the expert in microbiology for new chemical & biological (sterile & non-sterile products) entities and for R&D projects. The successful candidate will ensure the building’s sterility of a brand-new drug production unit as well as develop and/or supervise required activities to outsource microbiology operations.

Some of the main responsibilities will include:

-Assist in set up and follow up of microbiological activities for outsourced experimental drugs in line with quality, timeframe and budget,

-Organise outsourced microbiology activities, ensuring strict regulations and protocols are being followed,

-Manage OOS, OOT and microbial issues related to external and internal stakeholders,

-Participate in audits and inspections, CAPAs and work closely with sterility assurance department to define and establish specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a Masters and/or PhD in Microbiology and a minimum of 3 years in a sterile environment within an industrial pharmaceutical setting (ideally in R&D).

You will have solid knowledge of GMP regulations (Annexe 1) and previous experience analysing both sterile and non-sterile products.

Some travel to outsourced partner laboratories (Germany, US, etc) will be required although not regular.

Fluency in English is essential and French would be preferred. You will have strong organisation and communication skills and be a proactive person.
