Our client is an international supplier of enrichment services and fuel cycle products for the civil nuclear industry, serving customers worldwide to provide low carbon electricity through nuclear generation.

Due to continued growth and thanks to solid fincancial back ups, they are looking for an experienced and motivated R&D Software Project Manager to work on their Centrifgue Monitoring System (CMS). This high-availability system plays a crucial role in the monitoring and protection of the centrifgues and employs a mix of “standard IT” equipment as well as bespoke signal processing hardware and application software.

Detail design and engineering of this system has been undertaken by a specialist supplier and they are now looking for a Product Owner/System Designer/Project Manager to focus on specifying the requirements of the system, reviewing hardware and software deisgns, carrying out acceptance tests, reviewing end-user documentation and working with both suppliers & customers to facilitate the handover of the system.

The successful candidate will establish strong working relationships with CMS users and specialist suppliers, taking the technical lead in activities from functional enhancements to complete installation of a system in a new or existing plant.

In order to accomplish this, you will have or develop a solid understanding of the softwware & hardware together with an appreciation of gas centrifuge technology with respect to the application of the software.

To be successful, the right candidate will possess:

  • A degree/qualification in a relevant engineering subject
  • Experience generating and/or modifying source code in C++ or C# using Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience generating user & functional requirements specifications, test specifications and end-user acceptance tests of software
  • Experience working with internal customers (operators & maintenance technicians) in order to define user requirements, provide technical support & training
