Chemistry, Life Science & Engineering Recruitment
Electron microscopes are complex scientific instruments used in private and academic laboratories. They are precision instruments required to work to a high degree of accuracy, therefore need high levels of service and maintenance.
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced test engineers, users of IRMS instruments and physics/geochemistry graduates!
In this position you will play a crucial role in testing newly built mass spectrometry instruments.
Focusing on high-tech, cutting edge analytical instrumentation, your primary responsibility will be to remedy any instrument glitches though extensive electronics and software testing prior to shipment. You will perform a range of tests - electronic, software/hardware and run calibration standards. You will then visit customer sites around the world; installing the instrument and providing initial training courses.
The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in mechanical/electronic engineering and/or physics/chemistry background – knowledge of vacuum technology would also be beneficial. Excellent communication and team skills are essential.
This is a unique opportunity to work with complex technology in a customer-facing environment. You must be willing to spend ca. 20-30% of your time travelling around the world.
