Bioprocess Sciences plays a crucial part in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical drugs. Living cells (mammalian or bacterial) or their components are used to obtain desired products including, protein therapeutics such as antibodies.

We are currently recruiting for a global pharmaceutical organization seeking a Research Scientist to join their Upstream Process Sciences team. This position is offered initially on a 12-month contract with realistic opportunity to be extended.

In this role you will utilise your background/ knowledge in cell culture/ biochemical engineering to aid process development for projects in in the early stages of clinical development. You will be predominantly lab-based working with bioreactors from bench sale (250ml) to pilot scale (200L). Due to my client’s research focus, you will contribute to scientific & technology development to improve USP & primary recovery processes.

This business is for you if you possess-

•BSc/ MSc in Biological Science/ Biomedical Engineering or related with industrial experience or PhD in Biological Science/ Biomedical Engineering or related

•Theoretical understanding of cell culture systems ideally within an industrial environment

•Experience using various bioreactor systems at bench/ pilot scale

•Demonstrable problem-solving skills with a proven aptitude for lab work
