Our client is an international supplier of enrichment services and fuel cycle products for the civil nuclear industry, serving customers worldwide to provide low carbon electricity through nuclear generation.

They are looking to grow their technology capabilities and business development activities and will do this by providing strategic direction for the client’s assets and R&D activities. The role of the R&D Manager will involve working alongside the site operations and business functions in the UK, Germany, Holland and the USA.

You will play a key part in helping to maximise the efficiency of the current operational capacity, whilst exploring opportunities to expand and diversify the range of products and services offered. This will include being part of innovative programmes to develop new fuels, new medical solutions and waste management processes.

Reporting to R&D Lead UF6 Enrichment, you will manage and develop UF6 system and component related technology and knowledge in order to ensure safe and economic design and operation of facilities in compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will manage specific UF6 enrichment technology R&D activities and projects and provide ad-hoc support, as well as support the Product Line Lead in running the associated technology and processes, building the requisite capabilities and knowledge.

The successful candidate will make a difference and add value to the existing team. The following skills and experience will provide an indication of the types of team players we are looking for:

· Masters or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering

· Heavy/process/chemical industry background, preferably with nuclear experience

· Strong understanding of the safety and regulatory environment

· Proven experience within structuring, budgeting, executing and reporting R&D and qualification programmes

· Experience in working in international R&D teams

· Good understanding of vacuum technology

The first interview will be a Teams conversation with the Head of R&D followed by an on-site interview.
