About this job
Working as part of the Microbial Process Sciences team, you will help with various projects involving process optimisation, troubleshooting, evaluation of cellular responses, assessment of effects on product quality, scalability and tech transfer to GMP facilities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Performing microbial process development experiments at lab and pilot scale (250mL – 200L)
Providing records of lab work, experimental design and report writing
Aiding with reviewing, writing and updating internal procedures and documents
Maintenance of a safe working environment; writing and reviewing HSE risk assessments related to USP activities
Identifying scale-up challenges and developing robust processes for tech transfer to manufacturing scale
Trending, analysing and presenting laboratory data
Degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemical engineering or relate disciplines
Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally with E.coli
Strong communication and organisational skills
Enthusiasm to learn new techniques and work as a team
Experience in lab and pilot scale microbial processes including the use of bioreactor systems and relevant operating control software, and an understanding of E.coli physiology would be desirable
This is a 12 month initial contract position.
