Within the scientific industry Engineers are responsible for the maintenance, installation and repair of a range of scientific equipment. They provide excellent customer care in a challenging hands-on position, servicing instruments used in a range of industries.
Our client is a global instrument manufacturer of Mass Spectrometry, Chromatography and Thermal Desorption instruments. As part of their service, they have a team of dedicated engineers who provide technical support to their customers both remotely and onsite.
We are seeking a Support Engineer to be based onsite in South Wales, primarily providing remote support to UK & International customers related to any hardware issues with the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instruments. You will coordinate onsite work for the team of field service engineers ensuring correct part allocation and handover of the issue prior to the service.
To be suitable for this position, excellent communication skills are essential as you will be speaking daily with UK & worldwide customers over the phone and email. Experience servicing and/or utilising GC and MS instruments in a scientific setting would be highly desirable. You must also be willing to travel to provide onsite support, including occasional trips to mainland Europe.
