The agrochemicals market is estimated to be valued at $235 billion in 2023. Chemical & biological AgChem products are used globally to increase the yield and quality of crops by killing or controlling pests/ weeds (pesticides/ biocides) or improving agriculture output (fertiliser/ biostimulants).
Our client are a global contract research organisation servicing the agrochemical sector, creating new discoveries that have a positive impact on the environment by utilizing their in-house scientific expertise!
Due to the expansion of their Microbiology capabilities we are currently recruiting for permanent Research Microbiologist to join a team of experienced microbiologists & formulation chemists on the South Coast.
In a rapidly growing sector of the crop protection industry, you will be tasked with developing biopesticide & biostimulant products for our clients, as well as conducting in-house research into improving the shelf-life & performance of microbial formulations.
For this role you will possess:
- BSc/ MSc / PhD in Microbiology with a minimum of 4 years working in a research orientated microbiology laboratory using specialist equipment culture and isolation of micro-organisms including the use of autoclaves, incubators etc.
- Experience with fermentation in bioreactors, freeze drying, spray drying & qPCR instrumentation would be advantageous
- Experience or an interest in applying your knowledge of microbiology to the crop protection sector
You will be rewarded with a competitive basic salary in the region of £35,000 - £45,000/ annum depending on experience and additional benefits such as private health care.
The interview process is likely to be two stages, an initial video call with the hiring manager followedby an onsite visit and a tour of the facilities.
