Our client is a global pharmaceutical organisation conducting novel drug discovery & development projects across abroad range of therapeutic areas including, Neuroscience, Inflammation, Immunology, Oncology etc.

This lab-based role will specifically focus on supporting the discovery of novel therapeutics for inflammatory joints conditions, using your expertise in culture and functional analysis of tissues and primary cells. You will be responsible for running in vitro translational assays and developing complex cell models using joint relevant cells to investigate their mechanism of action.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A PhD in cell biology/immunology. A background in senescence biology or skeletal biology would be beneficial
  • Excellent cell biology skills, including primary human cell isolation/culture
  • Expertise in complex cell-based assays (e.g. 96/384 well plate-based assays)
  • A practical knowledge of molecular biology techniques; qPCR, RNA-seq, MSD/ELISA, western blotting, cell transfection
  • Desirable knowledge of CRISPR/RNAi, high content imaging, flow cytometry
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
