Biopharmaceuticals are gaining an ever-increasing portion of the licensed pharmaceutical product range and target a variety of disease areas; from cancer to Alzheimers. This boom in biopharmaceuticals requires specialist companies to have laboratories and scientists to characterize biopharmaceutical products produced by big pharma and biotechs.
Our client is a specialist testing laboratory and currently have an opening for an LC-MS Technical expert who can demonstrate an outstanding knowledge of using LC-MS to characterize proteins and biopharmaceutical products.
In this challenging role, you will be responsible for LC-MS method design & development, leveraging a talented team of scientists and equipment to fulfil customer requirements for biopharmaceutical characterization projects. Alongside this daily responsibility you will also provide strategic leadership in how the company’s facilities and processes can continue to improve and maintain best practice. You will also work with the Lab Manager and Study Project Managers to plan & organize laboratory workload, supervise junior analysts and troubleshoot where appropriate.
Ideal profile:
- Degree in Chemistry/Biology or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of using LC-MS to characterize biopharmaceuticals e.g., intact mass, peptide sequencing, PTMs, glycosylation patterns etc.
- Understanding of GMP regulations
- Excellent communication skills
