Drug discovery combines a range of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and pharmacology, beginning at target identification through to getting a drug to market.

Our client works with customers to deliver high quality drug discovery services and provide guidance and support for the development of novel medicines. Due to expansion of the management team, they are currently seeking a Biomarker Specialist to join the Translational Oncology department in an Associate Director position.

As a senior member of the organisation your primary responsibility will be the growth and development of the business’ oncology biomarker team to support the current portfolio. Within the organization you will be recognized as a subject matterexpert and will be tasked with the development and validation of challenging novel biomarker assays across multiple platforms. You will be pivotal in liaising with crucial clients and sponsors on technical issues, supporting projects from early discovery to clinical development.

Applications are invited from candidates who can demonstrate the following: -

  • Ph. D. (or equivalent experience) in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Significant experience in project/experimental biomarker strategy design and strategic oversight for drug discovery projects in industry (CRO, Biotech, Pharma).
  • Proven scientific leadership/management experience
  • Ability to conduct high-level interactions with clients and other stakeholders

Our client is looking for someone with the potential to step up into a Director level position, therefore, an outstanding reputation via a strong scientific pedigree and ability to influence and lead internally and externally is essential.
