Exciting opportunity for an experienced business development/sales person to join an established and rapidly growing contract research organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for developing new relationships and nurturing existing ones within the Biopharmaceutical/drug discovery sector. Your goal is to grow revenue – increasing business in our client’s integrated drug development service.
As a Business Development Manager you will oversee the entire commercial process from;
- Securing new opportunities via a variety of avenues such as; attending conferences, growing your network, identifying new groups with existing clients etc
- Responding to enquiries, rapidly promoting the different areas of services available through your expert understanding of Biopharmaceutical drug development
- Preparing and presenting proposals
- Negotiating contracts – costings, delivery, timeframes
You will be expected to exceed annual sales targets, explore new markets, and track/exploit industry trends. You will focus on the UK and wider European market, travelling when required (approx. 50-60%).
Applicants must have at least a BSc in Chemistry/Life Sciences (or related a subject) and previous experience developing and securing analytical testing/research contract; ideally for drug development and/or drug discovery services, but all scientific service sales/business development backgrounds will be considered.
Excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to travel is a must, as this role encompasses a UK and European territory.
